The days have blurred together, and it seems like moments since the last time I posted. Moments since the last time I posted regularly, even. Obviously, it hasn’t been.
Things have changed. The following are five staccato and disparate updates on events:
One
I’ve settled into the stay-at-home mom routine (upon not being immediately hired anywhere), and I have been blessed with being allowed to homeschool our three and a half children. My oldest son, Nate, is now officially supported by our new school district as a child on the autism spectrum. Upon moving to Minnesota, I learned that even if he isn’t taking courses at the school, he is still supported by the school. This has been amazing at allowing him to have some of the resources he needs to succeed socially. The process was confusing in places and somewhat convoluted, but we have all learned so much about Nate that it has been completely worthwhile.
Two
Our family is growing larger again. It seems like Gabriel was just born (fourteen months ago), but we have another child due on the way. This child will become a more physical part of our lives in April, and we are greatly looking forward to the grand event of welcoming the baby into our family.
Three
I’ve gotten a little more comfortable in our new house and new location. I am greatly looking forward to putting my husband to work this spring creating new raised garden beds for my edible gardening obsession. I can’t wait to share the new techniques and strategies we will be using. I hope you all are still interested in hearing about it.
Four
Our children are starting to make new friends through a variety of activities, but I’m afraid we’re still really lacking in company. If you have children (10 and below) and live near Northfield, MN, please contact me. I’d love to introduce my children to others! (I’d like to make new friends, too.)
Five
I’ve started reviewing books again. This is partly because I’ve finally started unpacking my books after living here for five months… As much as I believe they are priorities, kitchen cooking utensils and clothing ended up being more important. (Who knew?) In our new house there is a very warm gas fireplace near my reading “spot,” and I look forward to when I can cuddle in with a glass of wine and a good book.

Making a “can you believe this?” face at how round my belly is at 22 weeks.
I’ll leave you with this hilarious-to-me picture of my reaction upon seeing how large my belly had gotten at 22 weeks pregnant with our new baby. I realize that this post doesn’t wrap up neatly and it doesn’t really have a great story. …But, this is where I am. Making it one day at a time and trying to get back into my groove.
